A Gift to Ba'al Zebub
She closed in on herself, blaming Magda for every little thing, putting all of her faith in tarot cards and going to church, reading the Bible over and over. She began to sleep walk, and Magda and Violet would wake to chalk drawn symbols everywhere Violet could reach.
Violet was always awful, but now she was a different kind of awful. She was psychotic. She scared Magda. Most nights Magda locked up the knives and locked her door just in case. There had been a few close calls, especially after their family’s murder. Magda had woken up a few times recently to Violet sitting on Magda’s bed, cutting shapes into her own skin, sputtering some strange language in a trance like state.
