The Echo of Lies
You step into a circular stone chamber ringed with twelve mirrored columns, each ten feet tall, facing inward. The room is cold and deathly silent. As you step inside, the mirrored columns do not reflect you—at least not immediately.
Then, slowly, your reflections appear. But they don’t move with you. They stand still. Some look older. Some are smiling. Some have bruises, scars, or red-rimmed eyes you’ve never seen.
At the far end of the chamber, a large black stone plinth sits in front of a sealed iron door. Hovering above it is a silver-rimmed mirror disk, flat and still like a pool of mercury. It reflects nothing.
