The Fourth Circle
"The circle of Greed was one quite possibly the most unpleasant! Those whose attitude toward material goods deviated from the appropriate mean are punished. Including avarice, who hoarded possessions, and the prodigal, who squandered them.
Within the circle are occupants who are boiled alive in rivers of molten gold below, condemned for hoarding too closely or spending too freely with riches. Here also the damned are bound in cloaks of barbed chains made of silver and bronze and are made to walk treacherous miles bare feet upon scolding hot gold pieces!
Here Plutus, God of Wealth resides, along with Lady Fortune who offer me safe passage across the circle and to the next infernal level of The Woeful Realm."
