Coming to consciousness without having any bearings. Dense trees with menacing roots are underfoot. The moon is barely visible in the sky under the oppressive canopy formed by gnarled branches. Barefoot. Trembling in the damp air that hangs over like a pall and suffocates. Gasping for breath without any clear path forward in sight.
