Unease and Dread
I used to have recurring dreams, not quite nightmares, of descending to a subterranean level that had these huge cylindrical devices. In the dreams it was never clear if they were machines, tanks, or what have you but they were massive metallic structures, at least 100ft tall, and they were attached to both the floor and ceiling of this underground place. I say not quite nightmares because the dreams never developed into anything frightening but the mood was one of a presence of something palpably evil close by......
